Future Forest Planting Program
Malaysia is a party to the Convention on Biological Diversity and has committed to the protection of our environment and its natural heritage and to ensure they are sustainably managed. It is, therefore, important that we take stock of the biodiversity our forest holds. For that reason, documenting all the resources and their diversity in this forest is vital for our decision-making process on conservation, restoration, and utilization of the resources. In Future Forest’s program, protection and research on our native medicinal plants from our forest have been our main concern.
We started with planting some of the common and important medicinal plants in our own plantations to tap on the remedies that they provide and we have come up with a number of products using these cultivated medicinal plants. We realize that there are many more plants with medicinal properties in the natural forest their values still untapped.
Partnerships and Collaboration:
We welcome land owner, investors and project owners to join our LAND BANK program. We welcome all interested parties and landowners to work on these through collaboration and once the appropriate plants and their properties become known, will proceed to domesticate these plants for further developing other appropriate products.
Future Forest’s foremost aim is in the protection of our remaining natural forest and to tap on the degraded forest and open land for production of high-quality short rotation timbers that can become the substitute for the timber from the natural forest thus reducing logging from such natural forest. This will then help to preserve and conserve our natural forest for the protection of our biodiversity and our other ecological services. We are currently working closely with an authorized body, focussing on building and enhancing Malaysia's tree planting capacity and delivering viable solutions to our forest plantation programs through the production of high-quality planting material of relevant timber species. With this vision, we hope Malaysia’s Forest will continue to offer a broad suite of programs and services as well as create a stronger public presence advocating for abundant, healthy and sustainable forests while our native biodiversity remains intact.
In this program, we are introducing our key Plant, super clone Kelampayan (Light Hard Wood ), Albazia and much more to be named, which is a fast growing species for our planting program. Please contact us and set for one on one meeting on fast growing timber species and native plant for your project.
